Five workplace scenarios

1. A customer says a missed deadline will affect a contract. The crew reports that weather margins are deteriorating. What commitment do you make?Promise completion and ask the crew to find a faster approach.Offer a discount if the PIC will attempt a reduced flight.Tell the customer operations will decide and avoid giving any further update.Confirm that safety controls govern the decision, coordinate feasible alternatives with the PIC, and give the customer an honest revised plan.

2. A quote assumes unrestricted site access, but you hear that another contractor may occupy the work area. Dispatch is due shortly. What do you do?Verify access and conflicts with the site and crew, keep the uncertainty visible, and hold commitments that depend on unresolved safety information.Dispatch as scheduled and ask the crew to work it out on arrival.Cancel the job without contacting the site because the information might be true.Remove the uncertain work area from the quote and send the crew without a new briefing.

3. You discover you promised a deliverable outside the approved scope. The customer has arranged staff around your promise. What is your response?Ask production to include it quietly to protect the relationship.Wait to see whether the customer notices the difference.Disclose the error promptly, document it, and coordinate an authorized scope or schedule correction with the customer and operations.Tell the customer a crew limitation caused the change.

4. Two customers request the same crew. One offers a premium, but the other has an approved schedule and travel plan. How do you coordinate?Move the approved job because the premium benefits the company.Check capacity, crew duty and existing commitments, seek the appropriate scheduling approval, and communicate only confirmed changes.Ask the crew to do both and decide the order on the road.Tell each customer they have priority until you know which job proceeds.

5. A crew reports a controlled emergency landing and incomplete details. A customer immediately asks you to explain what happened. What comes first?Give the customer your likely explanation to prevent rumors.Ask the crew to collect customer deliverables before leaving the site.Call each crew member repeatedly until you have a complete account.Confirm people are safe through the designated contact, support the emergency plan without distracting responders, preserve known facts, and provide a factual update when authorized.
